Nigerian hotel booking startup Jovago partners with TripAdvisor

Jovago

The Nigerian hotel booking startup, Jovago, has recently partnered up with global travel service TripAdvisor. This partnership will help leverage the massive traffic seen on TripAdvisor while making the travelling options more comprehensive, if not simpler, for those using the service.

“TripAdvisor is delighted to partner with Jovago to offer travellers a diverse selection of hotels across Africa,” said Adrian Hands, Senior Director, Account Management, EMEA at TripAdvisor. “The partnership helps make booking these hotels as easy as clicking a button, whether travellers are on their desktop or mobile.”

This partnership means that travellers visiting TripAdvisor’s site will gain direct access to Jovago’s hotel listings. A massive boost as TripAdvisor sees over 260-million new faces each month globally as it aggregates bookings, flights and restaurants from an array of different sites across the globe.

Backed by Africa Internet Holding (AIH), Jovago on the other hand brings over 2 000 hotels from Nigeria, Senegal, Kenya, Zanzibar and Djibouti to the table.

Users can now click directly on the hotel search result of their choice to make their bookings more easily, while also checking out the reviews made by other travellers. As noted before, between 1990 and 2012, tourist traffic in Africa has tripled and amounts to US$36-billion. This figure translates into 2.8% of Sub-Saharan Africa’s GDP.

“TripAdvisor is a remarkable tool for travellers around the world looking to make smart and informed decisions when planning and booking their trips,” said Marek Zmyslowski, MD of Jovago Nigeria. “Jovago is focused on helping travellers find the best hotels no matter where they may be and making the process as convenient as possible.”
