Ziyahlanjwa Laundry Services received an advertising package to the value of R250 000 on CapeTalk.
Out of the 380 nominated small businesses, the runners-up were Cold Gold and Deaf Hands at Work, each of which received a R125 000 airtime package on CapeTalk.
“The feedback from the nominees is the same each year — the coverage and awareness that they receive on CapeTalk has boosted their business and exposed them to new markets,” says CapeTalk station manager, Colleen Louw.

Steven Cohen, the head of Sage One AAMEA, notes that the business has been recognised for its determination, dedication to customer service, passion, and potential to grow in the next few years:
Once again, we received many worthy entries from a diverse selection of excellent small businesses. But Ziyahlanjwa Laundry Services emerged as the winner because of its great attitude, superb customer service, and dedication to its employees.
Ziyahlanjwa Laundry Services was founded in 2010 by Sivu Mongo and her husband Justice.
“I’m so happy to have won this Award. We never thought we’d grow to this position from our beginnings in Kayelitsha,” says Sivu Mongo.
“My business is for others,” she added. “They know there’s a good, trustworthy laundry service available in the dusty streets of Khayelitsha. We have some big expansion plans for the future, and we hope that this Award will help move us closer to our dreams.”
The results of the 702 Small Business Awards with Sage One will be announced later this week.
