Finalists in the smart cities innovation challenge will get Launchlab incubation support

Entrepreneurs who attend the workshop will get the opportunity to interact with experts from Attacq to get a better understanding of the challenge and can receive feedback on their business ideas.

Following the pitching session, those entrepreneurs with the top ideas can get access to part of a collective R100 000 to cover business development expenses and LaunchLab incubation support worth R80 000, including mentorship, a portfolio manager, workspace and internet. Additionally, their innovations will be used at Attacq’s new business park development Waterfall City.

Last year following a similar workshop by Attacq and LaunchLab, six winners were chosen from 86 submissions. Subsequently, three of those six final startups made it through LaunchLab’s Lift-Off programme and have gone on to partner with Attacq.

These are:

  • Vizibiliti Insight – a predictive tenant solution that works through artificial intelligence
  • Drive Buy – a startup aiming to save consumers time by allowing them to order and pay for goods while enroute to pick them up
  • Swift Pay – solution that automates inventory and stock management for retail goods
