Top startup events in South Africa, Africa you should know about this week [26/09/2017]

Looking to get into the South African startup scene or brush up on some of your skills? Well, you’ve come to the right place. There are loads of competitions, networking sessions and workshops happening around South Africa and the rest of the continent (namely Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana) that we’ve rounded up to make your life a bit easier.

Cape Town

Lean Coffee

For those working in startups, lean (startup) coffee is a weekly one hour coffee meetup that runs a mashup of leancoffee.org with theleanstartup.com.

Silicon Cape Talks TravelTech

Technology and innovation in the travel industry has advanced from booking systems to virtual tour guides among other amazing things. This week’s event will feature a discussion focussing on these advancements, as well as a showcase of startups you should look out for. Panelists for the evening include Fomo Travel founder Andrew Katzinger, Leigh Franks of Cape Town Tourism, VoiceMap founder Ian Manley, and Ian Haggie head of business development at Explore Sideways.

Do-ference
