Here are the four South Africans joining Endeavor’s Entrepreneur programme

Four South African entrepreneurs from two startups, payments platform i-Pay and shopping rewards solution Retail Engage, have been selected to join Endeavor‘s Entrepreneurs programme at the 77th International Selection Panel (ISP) in Dubai.

The announcement was made by Endeavour in a statement on Friday. The four, Thomas Pays, Mitchan Adams, Lyle Eckstein, and Andrew Weinberg, are part of 22 entrepreneurs from eight countries to have been selected at the event which was held late last month.

Other than the four, one other African entrepreneur from Tunisia, Expensya’s Karim Jouini, was selected to join the programme.

The 22 bring the total number of entrepreneurs that Endeavor supports to 1621 across 30 cities around the world.

In all five African entrepreneurs were selected to become Endeavor Entrepreneurs at the Dubai ISP

The ISP is the culmination of a rigorous multi-step selection process to identify innovative and driven entrepreneurs who are committed to advancing an ecosystem of entrepreneurship.

During the selection event, panelists from around the world interviews the candidates about their businesses — particularly focusing on potential for high-impact growth.

Endeavour Entrepreneurs gain access to customised services that include access to local and international business mentors as well as volunteers from Fortune 500 consulting firms who assist the founders address key issues.

Endeavor co-founder and CEO Linda Rottenberg said the ISP had “truly convened some of the most promising talent in the region and beyond”.

“The Dubai selection panel provided a fantastic opportunity to bring the Endeavor network and entrepreneurs together in one of the fastest growing cities and entrepreneurship ecosystems in the world,” said Rottenberg.

The next ISP in Africa will be held between 11 and 13 December in South Africa.
