Social entrepreneurs have 2 days left to apply for R150k LaunchLab challenge

Stellenbosch University’s incubator LaunchLab together with Nation Builder and the Mergon Group, has placed a final call for social entrepreneurs to enter the inaugural Nation Builder Social Innovation Challenge. The deadline for online submission entries is this Friday (11 May).

The incubator launched the pitching competition in March. Entrepreneurs can win a share of R150 000 in seed capital.

Entrepreneurs with a self-sustainable business idea that addresses particular social issues, positively impacts communities, empowers the disadvantaged, or has the potential to solve local problems in innovative ways, are invited to enter the Social Innovation Challenge.

To enter one must submit a three-minute video (cellphone footage can be submitted too) of yourself explaining your business idea with your entry form which can be found on this page of the LaunchLab website.

In addition, LaunchLab’s terms and conditions apply, and are available to download here.

The top 10 finalists will be notified by the end of this month. Pitches will be shortlisted and the selected participants will then be taken through to the final pitching event to determine who walks away with their share of R150 000 seed capital.
