Top startup events in South Africa, Africa you should know about this week [18/06/2018]

This week’s highlight is the MEST Africa Summit which kicks off today (18 June) with a drinks reception at MEST’s Incubator in Cape Town. The two-day summit will feature talks from some of the leaders and important actors in Africa’s tech startup ecosystem.

If you’re interested in food and mobility solutions and are in Senegal you will want to attend the Dakar Food and Mobility pitch on Wednesday (20 June).

In Nigeria one of the biggest events of the week is IBM’s Blockchain Session which will explore blockchain use cases. For those in Kenya check out the WhatsGood workshop on data privacy and GDPR.

The third annual MEST Africa Summit will once again bring together the brightest minds in African tech. Watch out for the MEST Africa Challenge finals set to take place on the last day of the conference.

Lean (startup) coffee

For those working in startups, Lean (startup) coffee is a weekly one-hour coffee meetup that runs a mashup of leancoffee.org with theleanstartup.com.
