Seedstars World, one of the leading startup competitions for emerging markets, has announced the 10 Ugandan startups set to pitch later this week at this year’s Seedstars Kampala pitch event.
The pitch event, which will be held on Friday (24 August), will see 10 of Uganda’s best seedstage startups compete to represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland. In addition, the winning startup will be in the running for $1-million in equity investments.

A jury panel comprised of Innovation Village team leader CK Japhet, Ensibuuko founder Otim Gerald, Leapfrog Ventures founder CEO Takuma Terakubo, and Seedstars East Africa associate Maryam Mgonja will select the winners.

The selected startups range from payments solutions, a digital currency exchange to an ecommerce platform for medical supplies.
2ambale: An online clothing marketplace that helps users to buy clothes from stores around Kampala within an hour at no extra cost.
Agro Supply Uganda: This startup is using mobile micro savings to supply smallholder farmers with certified agricultural inputs, agricultural extension services and markets for their produce.
Bringo Fresh Deliveries: This logistics solution provides farmers with an organised market by delivering fresh produce boxes to users.
CoinPesa: A blockchain-based digital asset exchange that is focused on bringing crypto currencies and other digital assets to emerging markets.
Digi Health: A data collection and report generating mobile app that aims to improve data management for community health workers.
Mallan: This startup has developed YakaKo Pay, an emergency electricity payment option.
Medical Street International: An online ecommerce platform offering a wide range of medical supplies and products to health consumers at affordable prices.
OlyCash: The startup has a payment tool for use in local and international ecommerce and non-physical cash settlements.
Quest Digital Finance: This fintech startup’s Akello Banker platform enables farmers and traders to access credit services.
Digital Health Access: This startup’s tele-health platform connects its users to health professionals and providers.
