    The Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (Savca) announced the appointment yesterday of two new directors, as well as the re-appointment of an existing director to its board. The appointments follow Savca's annual general meeting held yesterday (3 October) in Johannesburg. The new appointees are Langa Madonko, investment principal for investor relations and capital raising at Summit Africa and Rory Ord, head of unlisted investments at 27four Investment Managers.     SA startup Giraffe announced today that it has closed a second funding round, with a lead investor participating in the round revealing that its own share of the contribution was valued at "between R10-million and R20-million".     Entrepreneur Michael Roberts has been able to grow his software company from 90 to 140 people in just nine months, thanks to the Johannesburg-based accelerator 10XE.     Andi Friedman is feeling "energised and excited" following a R16-million investment his startup Mobenzi received from Vumela Fund. Friedman said the Series-A funding served as a good recognition of all the hard work the company has done.
