Turn your WordPress site into a Mxit app, easy peasy
Mxit has been working hard to create a platform that developers can build products on. In the last few months the mobile social network has launched a set of new developer APIs as well as a redesigned Developer Centre.
The company reckons that by using open web standards, it is opening MXit up for anyone who wants to develop apps for it. Apparently building a Mxit app is about to get a whole lot easier for developers.
Kazazoom, an app developer on Mxit, has released, mxPress, a WordPress plugin that “turns any WordPress site into a Mxit Mobi Portal app”. The plugin is fully integrated with Google Analytics tracking and following Mxit’s new open policy the plugin is open source (under the BSD-3 license). Developers can use it for free and contribute to it.
“By opening up the possibility for any WordPress site to become a Mxit app without requiring the publisher to do any development, Kazazoom has lowered the barrier to entry for great new apps and content on Mxit. Check out the mxPress site for more information about how to install it,” says Mxit.
Kazazoom provides interactive mobile entertainment services in Africa, through third-party applications and games for clients, on the Mxit platform.
“Why should we code Mxit screens from scratch when we can have an easy to deploy and open framework that will allow us to build our games and apps faster. Join the community and help us build Mxit development libraries,” says Eric Clements, Founder & MD, Kazazoom
