Looking to get into ecommerce? This seminar might be for you
If you’re looking to get into the ecommerce space — and why wouldn’t you: online retail grew 30% in the last year, compared with six percent for traditional retail, then there are a couple of options out there when it comes to learning with those who’ve carved out names for themselves.
We recently told you about PayU and MWEB co-hosting a free workshop for Cape Town entrepreneurs who are looking to ride the ecommerce rocket. Now ecommerce platform Vaimo is hosting a free seminar for any retail types looking to make the jump.
The seminar, which takes place tomorrow, kicks off with Warrick Kernes from Action Gear explaining how he went about his eCommerce platform selection and his eCommerce strategy going forward.
Charles Elliman, Head of Sales at PayU, will offer insight into the trends and opportunities in ecommerce in South Africa, and will advise on the available technology for building an online business. The discussion will also touch on the requirements and resources needed to sell online and will explore different ecommerce business models.
Among the other speakers are Peter Fish, head of Gofish — one of SA’s most successful SEO companies and one of the few Google Certified Professionals in SA and Kevin Clarke, Head of sales at Vaimo — who will explain why user experience for your online shop is key to commerce success. To round things off, Albert Mooij from eCompare.co.za, will discuss where and how will online shoppers find retailers.
The seminar, will be held at SAGE Technology Park, 102 Western Service Road, Gallo manor on 3 September 2013 August from 12h30-16h30 and anyone interested in attending can email the relevant people.
