Africa’s media platform Bozza partners with Airtel, Econet for massive reach

Bozza

Bozza — a popular platform for sharing independent music, videos and poetry — is partnering with Airtel and Econet, two of Africa’s largest telecoms.

With the massive service providers operating in a total of 17 countries, this move could only spell greater things for the tech startup and make its content accessible to millions of new fans.

“We’re genuinely excited about these two significant developments because they signal opportunities for unsigned artists that are otherwise unobtainable. While normally accessible only by those signed with a record label, the talented artists we work with will now benefit from exposure to massive audiences,” says Emma Kaye, Bozza founder and CEO.

Econet and Airtel network users will now be able to access more songs from trending artists spanning the entire continent for use as caller ring-back tones.

Referring to the network’s own caller ring-back tone service, Leon de Fleuriot, Econet General Manager for Products & Service says that the amount of exposure is massive:

Buddie Beatz today connects over 8 million people, and we work hard to keep our brand promise of being a reliable Buddie to each and every customer. Our deal with Bozza is a great extension of this and offers our customers Pan-African music from some of the freshest new artists on the continent.

Similar to what platform’s like South Africa’s MzansiStore does for local crafters, Bozza provides an online launchpad centered around music and media.

“What’s also exciting is that Bozza artists have an offline audience too that they can then bring online. These artists have loyal communities of fans so through the valuable opportunity to earn revenue from direct contact with Econet and Airtel, they’re still hustling on the ground,” concludes Kaye.
