DEMO Africa 2015 to be hosted in Lagos for second year in a row
For the second year running, Lagos is going to host 2015 edition of DEMO Africa. The event will be co-hosted by The Ministry of Communication Technology-Federal Government of Nigeria, National Information Technology Agency-Nigeria and DEMO Africa in partnership with VC4Africa and Afrilabs.
At Demo Africa, more than 40 startups from all over Africa will showcase their innovations to potential investors, consumers, and press.

Dr Omobola Johnson, the Minister of Communication Technology, expressed his excitement about the event being hosted ion Nigeria again: “We are pleased that DEMO Africa will be hosted in Nigeria for the second time. DEMO Africa provides a veritable platform for young Nigerian and African youths to showcase their creativity and innovation and push Africa’s frontier in the global space.”
The preparations are already underway, with Yeke Okeremi, the Chairman of loocal organizing committee, assuring a successful event. ”This presents another chance to bring together Africa’s most innovative minds and I promise the committee’s commitment to the success,” he says.
To create a buzz around the event this year, Demo Africa will run several pre-demo contests in various other countries. The application for the platform open at the end of February and startups are encouraged to prepare.
The final 40 startups that will make it to the event will be selected because of their ability to link creativity, innovation and effectiveness. The decision will be made by a panel of judges made up of experts in Tech and Business.
Applications will start rolling in in February while the event will take place in September.
