Student Hub to launch new elearning service for students
Educational ecommerce platform for buying, selling, and renting textbooks, Student Hub is launching an elearning component.
According to a press release sent to Ventureburn, this new addition will allow students at institutions to access study support tools. The startup already facilities a range of students at educational institutions in South Africa and Africa, meaning the service will offer greater benifit to students.
“The delivery of learning information at tertiary educational institutions and the ease of learning the content shouldn’t come at premium prices,” says managing director and founder, Hertzy Kabeya.
He goes on to say: “We do this by helping with learning support. And in this way, we are trying to make access to prescribed textbooks legal, easy accessible and affordable.”
According to the company’s website, students can “Rent your textbooks for 6 or 12 months and save up to 65% on the price of your textbooks.” It also states the company will collect books anywhere in SA within 24 hours, and guarantees the lowers prices out of any SA store when purchasing.

The startup was founded in 2015 by managing director Hertzy Kabeya, and is now run in conjunction with chief marketing officer, Imrah Gilwa.
In September last year, Student Hub was awarded seed funding from the Nedbank Stellenbosh University LaunchLab’s Ideas Programme Pitching Platform.
Student Hub operates out of Observatory, Cape Town, and out of the Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab, Stellenbosch.
