But these kids demanded it of me.

Education initiative, Chalkboard Education, has been selected as the overall winner of pitching competition, Seedstars World Ghana.

Chalkboard Education is a certified institution which offers a real degree certified by universities. It requires no internet connection and is accessible on any device via SMS.

“If I judge by last years winners I think the global summit in Switzerland is going to be life changing. Last year’s winners Asoriba had an amazing year and we hope to be able to do the same with the help of the Seedstars platform,” said The founder of Chalkboard Education and CEO, Adrien Bouillot

Bouillot and his team will be headed to Switzerland where they will compete among 64 other finalists for a shot at US$1-million in equity investment.

“After reviewing all the startups that applied to SeedStars Accra 2016, we are very happy to see that this was another successful event, one which will showcase Ghana’s potential as an exporter of technology,” said community manager at Impact Hub Accra, Victor Kelechi.

The founder of Asoriba, Nana Prempeh, who won last year’s Seedstars World, Ghana, gave an insightful keynote. “The Seedstars World competition truly gave us the opportunity to shine and get exposure and visibility. As an entrepreneur, you need opportunities like these to get your feet into the door. For us, Seedstars World opens the door to get into Techstars accelerator in South Africa for example,” said Prempeh.

The winner and runners-up were incredibly hard to choose said Associate for Seedstars World Africa, Selam A. Kebede. “The quality of startups in Ghana is absolutely impressive and it was very hard to choose a winner amongst so many great companies. However, we are very happy with our decision to take Chalkboard Education to our Global Summit.”

With Ghana’s winner finally chosen, it’s time for Seedstars World to head to their next destination, Abidjan in the Ivory Coast to select the best startup that seeks to solve regional issues and develops profitable products for the global market.
