Thomson Reuters Lab launches at Bandwidth Barn in Cape Town
Mass media firm Thomson Reuters has Friday announced the launch of its Thomson Reuters Labs at the Bandwidth Barn in Woodstock, Cape Town.
The company notes that the Labs will “engage with the region’s vibrant innovation ecosystem and dynamic startup community to fuel growth and empower success for Thomson Reuters customers worldwide“.
According to the press release, the Lab will have two primary functions, namely innovation and partnership.
“Thomson Reuters Labs is an engine of innovation for our company, leveraging creative partnerships to deliver real solutions for our customers,” explains the company’s VP for Thomson Reuters Labs, Mona Vernon.
“Through our growing Labs network, we continue to connect Thomson Reuters best-in-class data sets and professional expertise with innovation communities around the globe.”
The partnership element will see the Labs collaborate with startups, which aims to help the latter introduce new technology and data-rich methodologies into their workflows.
“We are delighted to welcome Thomson Reuters to our FinTech cluster. Combining their deep industry expertise with our own incubation initiatives,” says CEO of CiTi and The Bandwidth Barn, Ian Merrington.
