Here are the 11 startups pitching at Seedstars Douala 2017
The Seedstars World team this week heads off to Douala for the Cameroon leg of its world tour, where 11 of Cameroon’s most promising seed-stage startups will pitch for an opportunity to represent the country at the regional and global Seedstars Summits.
The 11 startups, which were announced yesterday (Monday 25 September) after a pre-selection round, will pitch in front of an investment panel on Friday (29 September) at ActivSpaces in Douala.
Seedstars Douala 2017 will take place on Friday 29 September
The winning startup will take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits and will get to participate in a week-long boot camp and investor forum.
In addition, towards the end of the summit, the winner will get an opportunity to pitch for up to $1-million in equity investment and other prizes.
Here are the 11:
Allodoc: This web and mobile application links health professionals and the population in need of care. It also promotes preventive medicine.
Bridge Africa Ventures: This communication platform, which works on- and offline, is aimed at businesses and allows users to create websites, access databases, and network through text messaging.
Cloomify: This city guide app works even when you do not have an internet connection.
Drone Africa: Drone Africa aims to develop intelligent drones that will reduce mapping costs and improve security in Africa.
GiftedMom: This startup develops last-mile mobile health solutions to increase maternal engagement. GiftedMom also aims to democratise health information access in emerging markets through an artificial intelligence-based remote medical support platform.
Guanxi Investment: Guanxi is a crowdfunding platform which enables entrepreneurs in Africa to find investors for their projects.
iDjangui: iDjangui aims to bridge traditional finance and modern financial institutions in Africa.
MyExpressTicket: MyExpressTicket has developed an intra-urban real-time bus booking platform.
Ratagrab: Ratagrab is a fast food delivery platform in Cameroon.
VIKI: VIKI is an artificial intelligence-based virtual sales assistant which generates leads from social media and automates engagement.
Save Our Agriculture: This agritech startup combines aquaculture (fish farming) with hydroponics to take on logistics problems faced by small rural producers.
