treadFEST 2017 – five stages with Graeme Watkins Project, Goodluck, Majozi
treadFEST 2017, which takes place in the Drakensberg from 3 to 6 December, presents five stages with a mix of music genres: The Graeme Watkins Project, Goodluck and Majozi are just three among a host of bands and DJs in the pipeline.
The Graeme Watkins Project exploded onto the SA music scene in 2011. Their debut album Corridors of the Mind produced no less than five top-10 singles and catapulted them into the spotlight.
Their second album Soldier On, released in 2013, confirmed the band’s dirty, edgy, rough approach to a medley of pop, indie, rock and electronic genres. Catch “the band with love in abundance” at treadFEST, 3 to 6 December in the KZN Drakensberg.
What fans have labelled an irresistible blend of electronica, jazz and pop influence, Goodluck is all about creating a sound that is thoroughly their own.
They’ve enjoyed amazing success both in South Africa & internationally over the past 4 years, but they reckon they remain grounded, inspired and down to earth… In fact, they believe that they are “the nerds of the music industry, just living out the adventure of our lives.“ Join their adventure at treadFEST.
Majozi is a proudly South African musician from the coastal city of Durban who wears his heart on his sleeve. Literally. He has tattoos dedicated to Jesus and to his mother two very defining aspects of his life, both of which inspire the music he writes.
His infectious beat and meaningful lyrics have fans singing along with gusto at all the gigs he has been landing. His music video for “The River” was also hugely popular, with over 25000 views on Youtube. See him live at treadFEST.
In addition to great music, treadFEST activities range from hiking and cycling to sunrise yoga; from outdoor movies to Battle of the Bands to War of the Words.
