Looking to get into the South African startup scene or catch up on some of your skills? Well, you’ve come to the right place. There are loads of competitions, networking sessions and workshops happening around South Africa and the rest of the continent (namely Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana) that we’ve rounded up to make your life a bit easier.

Cape Town

Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance Colloquium

The Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance Colloquium is a chance to learn more about Harambeans as well as opportunities available to young entrepreneurs wishing to scale their efforts.

The colloquium will be led by Harambe’s founder and chairman, Okendo Lewis-Gayle, who will share lessons learned on a decade of supporting young innovators across Africa.

Startup Ideation Bootcamp

If you have an idea for a startup that could use some refinement, then join the Startup Ideation Bootcamp. The workshop will help you improve your idea, come up with new ideas and even recruit potential co-founders.

Lean Coffee

Future Females : Build and use your influence

Johannesburg

Startup Grind hosts Marnus Broodryk (Shark Tank, Beancounter)

This month Startup Grind hosts Beancounter founder and CEO Marnus Broodryk — the youngest investor to be on the international television show Shark Tank.

He started off washing cars and cutting grass to pay for school, followed by 18-hour days to get through articles and part-time tertiary education.

To date, Broodryk has launched and sold three tech companies, a glass company, a construction company, and even a vegan restaurant.

Tech in Ghana Conference Accra
