Simodisa to integrate Venture Central site with other existing portals
SA entrepreneurship advocacy body Simodisa will in coming months begin integrating its Venture Central portal for entrepreneurs with other exisiting portals, the startup advocacy group’s operations co-ordinator Batsi Mphahlele said yesterday.
Mphahlele, who is also the co-ordinator of the portal, said the development would also include the addition of other aspects as per feedback received from subscribers and those in the tech ecosystem.
The portal, which Simodisa launched in November last year now has had 1023 subscribers since its launch in mid-November, with most visiting the resources page, and events calendar.
The site also offers news, business information and links to opportunities and various tools, templates and others resources (such as available workspaces, incubators and accelerators).

In all 70% of visitors to the site are male black entrepreneurs. Most of the visitors are from Gauteng (75%), followed by Western Cape with (15%).
Simodisa’s Venture Central portal was launched in November last year and has garnered over 1000 subscribers so far
“We’ve had positive feedback. People like that the portal is easy to navigate and has valuable information and also a variety of resources catering to different stages of business. They also like the fact that it is free to subscribe,” he said.
Asked what suggestions if any Simodisa has received to improve the portal, Mphahlele she has received suggestions such as to include adding an interactive blog or a live chat feature.
