Tshimologong announces launch of BCX Innovation Programme for tech startups

Think your tech startup is innovative enough to become a global disruptor, but just needs that extra boost? Then you have until this Tuesday (23 January) to apply to the BCX Innovation Programme.

The programme, which will be held at Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct, is part of the BCX and Telkom Innovation Programme.

In a press release today announcing the launch of the initiative, Tshimologong incubator and accelerator manager Tanye ver Loren van Themaat described the BCX Innovation Programme as “an exciting opportunity to grow and develop innovative digital startups that are in prototype stage”.

BCX Innovation Programme participants will get the opportunity to partner or supply Telkom or BCX

“One of the biggest benefits is the chance to become a supplier or partner to Telkom or BCX,” she said.

The programme is open to startups with solutions in artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), gamification, nanotech, agritech, smart cities, safety and security, and edtech among other fields.

Aside from getting access to the Tshimologong precint, selected startups stand to benefit from business development, mentorship as well as access to funding opportunities.

In addition, programme participants will also be provided with co-working space at the precinct and market access through match-making platform SpliceWorks.

The BCX Innovation Programme will run every Thursday evening, from 8 February until 15 March.
