Nigerian recruitment startup DropQue crowned the winner of Seedstars Lagos

DropQue, a Lagos-based startup that helps companies source staff at a lower cost through secure video interviews, has been selected as the winner of this year’s Seedstars Lagos pitch event.
Pharmaceutical ecommerce platform MyMedicines and crowd-sourcing startup Natterbase were placed second and third, respectively.
DropQue uses a combination of one-way unassisted video interviews and an artificial intelligence (AI) assessment assistant to help companies to source suitable candidates. The startup was founded in 2016 by CEO Opeyemi Akinwoleola and Yinka Akinbobola.
DropQue will now represent Nigeria at the Seedstars Africa and global summits
By winning Seedstars Lagos, DropQue will go onto represent Nigeria at Seedstar’s Africa summit in December and the global summit in Lausanne in April next year. At the global summit, the startup stands a chance to win up to $1-million in funding.
Continuing on its world tour of startup scenes in emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, Seedstars World’s next stop is Abidjan, at Seedspace Abidjan this Friday (26 October), where the organisation will select the best early-stage startup in Ivory Coast.
