Cairo-based medical tourism marketplace Doctoorum has secured an investment from Dubai seed fund Numu Capital.

The startup was founded last year by Yemeni entrepreneur Begad Nasser to help patients get affordable medical treatments in hand-picked destinations.

It is not clear exactly how much Numu Capital invested in Doctoorum. Ventureburn sought comment from both Nasser and Numu Capital on details of the deal but had not received a response at the time of publication.

Bahrain tech publication Startup MGZN said in an article last Thursday (5 September) that the deal took place “a few months ago” during Doctoorum’s graduation from AUC Venture Lab.

AUC Venture Lab held the demo day of its Arab African International Bank Cycle 12 cohort, which Doctoorum was a part of, on 10 July.

The publication added that Doctoorum plans to expand its operations beyond Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa region to include destinations like Turkey, India, Germany, and Thailand.
