Business support, €20k up for grabs in fourth edition of AFD Digital Challenge
Are you part of a startup, association or research centre that is developing a digital solution that promotes the development of inclusive and sustainable cities in Africa?
The French Development Agency (AFD) said in a statement last week that it will in the fourth edition of its AFD Digital Challenge offer each of the 10 winning projects €20 000 and tailor-made business support.
Innovators looking to participate in the challenge have until 18 November to submit their applications online here.
Applications for the fourth edition of the AFD Digital Challenge will close on 18 November
AFD said this year’s edition aims to highlight the digital innovation projects that will shape the African cities of tomorrow.
To be considered for this year’s challenge, applicants should have innovative solutions that stimulate local economic development, facilitate exchange between authorities and citizens, improve the management of urban services and plan the city for the most vulnerable.
In the application review phase, startups will be selected based on analysis of their projects, their innovative potential, business model, impact and the importance of the digital element in it.
AFD experts will also carry out an in-depth analysis of pre-qualified projects before a final selection is made by a jury of experts from the development agency.
