Zambia’s BongoHive opens applications for fintech challenge
Zambian tech hub BongoHive has launched a tech challenge to explore opportunities for financial inclusion and innovation from aspiring entrepreneurs in the fintech space.
BongoHive said in a statement last week that the BongoHive Fintech Challenge will run as a partnership with Financial Sector Deepening Zambia Limited (FSD Zambia).
The challenge, which will run from 22 June to 2 October, seeks to work with aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs that are addressing gaps in financial inclusion.
Applications close on 10 June.
The BongoHive Fintech Challenge will run from 22 June to 2 October
Aspiring participants will be required to submit applications with evidence of how their solution is addressing current challenges in the Zambian financial landscape, as identified by BongoHive and FSD Zambia.
Sixty selected applicants will be invited to participate in virtual ideation sessions, following which, 20 participants will be invited to take part in five-day virtual idea validation sprints.
From this, two finalists who will each receive a further eight weeks of business development support and 20,000 kwacha ($1100) worth of technical support.
