Top startup web events in SA this week [06/04/21]

For this short week ahead, the lineup of events for entrepreneurs focuses on how to thrive in a pandemic along with valuable insight into how to create a portfolio career.

Ventureburn has updated its existing weekly series that highlights all the top startup events in Africa, by shifting to focus only on web events broadcast from Africa.

Portfolio Career Workshop

Lifecheq will be hosting a portfolio career workshop via Facebook to help young and upcoming individuals empower themselves by having a portfolio career. A portfolio career can be understood as defined by the Cambridge dictionary as having several part-time jobs at once rather than one full-time job, offering individuals flexibility, various revenue streams of income, and also to widen their experience in various career fields.

The workshop will address the following aspects; How can you as a young professional get to a point where you can control what you do with your time while still being able to enjoy the lifestyle you want? Do you have the right skills to pursue having a portfolio career? Are you clued up enough to notice changing trends in markets, industries, and consumer behaviour and adapt your portfolio accordingly?

With the rise of digitisation and the gig economy, portfolio careers are becoming a norm. The workshop is an informative and practical approach to strategizing your way towards directing your work focus to where you want it.

Entrepreneurship during the third wave

StartupGrind is hosting an event focused on facilitating a discussion between African entrepreneurs on how to cope or even thrive in the possibility or within a third wave of the pandemic. 

Held in Kenya, this event will be conducted virtually and is open to entrepreneurs across the world to attend.
