AfricArena to host fifth annual summit in Cape Town
AfricArena, the leading African tech ecosystem accelerator, has announced that it will be hosting its fifth annual Grand summit event in Cape Town from 16 to 17 November 2021 at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock.
The Grand Summit will take place from 16 – 17 November 2021
During the two-day event, over 50 startups from over 15 African countries will participate in pitching in various Open Innovation Challenges. These challenges will act as investment tracks with Seed, Series A and Series B startups all pitching. This will provide the participating startups with the opportunity to network with investors, secure possible funding and network with other startup founders in the tech ecosystem.
In adition, the summit event will feature insightful discussions and talks led by industry leaders within business, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Leading up to the two-day main event, participants can look forward to engaging in several ‘side events’ which include an invite-only VC Unconference taking place at the Arabella hotel from 11- 13 November 2021. Another side event that will be hosted is the Founders Bootcamp, an event tailored to allowing participating startups to network with one another and takes place at Workshop 17 at the Watershed in Cape Town. Not only will participants be able to network but they will be able to gather valuable advice from investors.
Tanya van Lill, CEO of SAVCA comments on the upcoming event.
“The AfricArena Summit is always buzzing with energy and is a great place where stakeholders in the ecosystem can engage. Whether investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers or ecosystem supporters and builders like SAVCA, there is something for everyone and a great showcase of the talented entrepreneurs emanating from the African continent and the astute investors who support them.”
The event will end with two side events; the VC Night and the Innovation Night. This will further allow participants and entrepreneurs to network with other attendees and where pitching can take place within an informal setting.
Tickets for the event can be purchased on Quicket.
Although held in-person the event will strictly adhere to Covid-19 protocols.
