EO Cape Town selects 15 local startups for Bootcamp to Boardroom programme
The Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (EO) has announced 15 Cape Town startups that will participate in its ‘Bootcamp to Boardroom’ programme.
The programme will run for six months. During that time, the startup entrepreneurs will receive monthly mentoring in all areas of business.
“If our first session is anything to go by, I look forward to more of the same energy and engagement that was shared by everyone involved.”
It will run in collaboration with EO Diversity Chair Luvuyo Rani, as well as the Over the Rainbow Foundation and FURTHER.
Active in 61 countries globally, EO is a non-profit entity that offers peer-to-peer networking opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Startups who will participate in Bootcamp to Boardroom programme
To enter the programme, EO Cape Town required candidates to show their startups have a social and economic impact on their communities.
The chosen startups operate across multiple sectors. They include coaching and personal development, cosmetics, Information Technology (IT), education, and retail and distribution.
“There is such a great mix of entrepreneurs who are doing incredible work within their communities right here in Cape Town,” Luvuyo Rani said in a statement.
The programme candidates and their respective startups include:
- Unotida Nyoni: Grand Scale Consultancy
- Siyabonga Shaun Goniwe: Bits and Algorithm
- Fortunate Ntombela: Definite Perfumes
- Akhona Ngxongxela: Supreme Burgers and Pizza
- Sikhangezile Sibanda: Touchstone Training Academy
- Aphiwe Mazamisa: Dollar Sign Concept
- Ruth Noxolisa: WoowFoods
- Mandlakazi Molefe: Kids Spot Hair Salon and Pamper Parties
- Tobie Verreynne: Crosspoint Life Consultants
- Marlon Alexander: Custom Steel Designs
- Maria Earle: Nude Veggies
- Dane Rossenrode: Touchdreams
- Sive Swartbooi: Zulwi Group
- Vimbai Dengedza: Amaka Mobile Beauty
- Webster Kushata: Nzum Nzum Group
The programme aims to provide support to the startups and candidates as they face the first three-year phase of their business.
It will provide training in business areas such as marketing, sales, finance, leadership, and strategy.
“What is particularly encouraging is their potential to scale, which will require much guidance and support if they are to do it successfully,” Rani added.
