Following last year’s sold-out event, organisers of the Africa Tech Summit have confirmed that more than 1 000 technology leaders, investors, and other movers and shakers are set to attend the 2023 edition held in February.

The summit will be held on Wednesday, 15 and Thursday, 16 February at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. It is billed as the leading tech conference focused on connecting businesses and driving investments within Africa’s tech ecosystem.

Andrew Fassnidge, director of the Africa Tech Summit, says the upcoming fifth edition is filled with loads of programme highlights.

He says, “This year’s [event] will feature 150 speakers across two stages, masterclass sessions, an exhibition and multiple networking events to drive business and investment forward.”

With Africa’s tech ecosystem projected to grow from an estimated $115 billion to $712 billion by 2050 according to Endeavor Nigeria’s recent report, the summit again connects tech leaders and stakeholders. This includes investors, corporates, mobile operators, fintech, decentralised finance (DeFi) and crypto ventures, start-ups, developers, regulators, and policymakers that do business across the continent.

The 2023 flagship summit hosts three tracks; the Africa Money and DeFi Summit, the Africa Startup Summit and the Africa Mobile and App Summit, which brings together tech players from across the continent.

As the fintech space continues to experience 20% growth year-on-year, with the market estimated to reach $40 billion by 2025 according to MasterCard, the Africa Money and DeFi Summit will continue to uncover new opportunities in FinTech, Web3, and DeFi.

The Africa Startup Summit, which connects tech startups with investors and corporates, will unpack opportunities and challenges within the ecosystem while showcasing leading ventures. This, while the Africa Mobile and App Summit will explore new technologies and solutions in the African mobile ecosystem and share insights on the future of mobile growth and trends in Africa.

For the fifth edition of Pitch Live, ten African startups will get to pitch their company and solution on stage to an audience of investors and corporates. Click here for more information on the summit or email register@africatechsummit.com.
