AfricArena set to make history with Cairo summit
AfricArena is making history with its first-ever summit in Egypt, following the massive success of its event in New York just last week. From Saturday, 29 April to Friday, 5 May, the leading African tech ecosystem accelerator will host its Cairo Growth Stage Summit in partnership with AVCA and AWS Startups.
Together, they will bring together some of the brightest minds in business, tech, and investment from around the world. Hosted at the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis, the event promises to be an action-packed week of innovative ideas, unfiltered exchanges, and game-changing collaborations.
With over 20 speakers set to talk about Africa’s ecosystem and investment opportunities, and more than 15 start-ups pitching their ventures, it is a must-attend for anyone interested in the African technology investment landscape.
The Cairo Growth Stage Summit also offers attendees a unique opportunity to network with start-ups, venture capitalists, and investors while exploring the historic city of Cairo, which has left an indelible mark on the world.
AfricArena founder Christophe Viarnaud says, “Cairo has in just five years become a thriving tech ecosystem, now in the continent’s top three. Egypt has historically been a cradle of innovation and exchange and this incredible week run by AVCA and AfricArena will be the place to be to peek into Africa’s investment and tech entrepreneurship future.
“After successful events in Johannesburg in March and New York in April, we are bringing our first VC Unconference of the year to Egypt and our first ever Growth Summit, combined with a learning expedition, to Cairo.”
Top investors and industry leaders are set to grace the stage at the Cairo Growth Stage Summit, including Ido Sum from TLCom Capital, AJ Coetzee from Rise Others, Sacha Haider from Global Ventures, Karima Ragab from Alegbra Ventures, Ashim Egunjobi from Octerra Capital, and Aya Zaghin, a renowned early-stage investor from Breega.
Other A-list speakers include Grégoire de Padirac from Orange Ventures, Noha Kandil from Endeavour Egypt, and Karima El Hakim from Plug and Play Egypt. Other notable attendees include Anthony William Catt, Margaret O’Connor, Charlotte Newman from AWS, Jake Kendall from DFS Labs, Ahmed Kadous from Pharmacy Marts, Ramez El-Serafy from Flat6 Labs, and Mohammed Karar from Launch Africa Ventures.
VC Unconference & AVCA VC Summit
Besides the Cairo Growth Stage Summit, AfricArena has partnered with the African Private Capital Association (AVCA) to offer delegates an incredible set of various events for investors, including a VC Unconference in Fayoum, about 100km outside Cairo. This event is scheduled from Saturday, 29 April to Monday, 1 May.
Additionally, there will be an AfricArena VC Summit with top growth start-ups on showcase on Tuesday, 2 May, and an AVCA VC Summit from Monday, 1 May to Friday, 5 May. This event will feature top conversations on challenges and opportunities in the African tech investment landscape.
