REdimension Capital closes R250m property tech and sustainability fund

REdimension Capital has announced the final close of its Real Estate Technology & Sustainability Fund I, with aggregate commitments surpassing R250 million. The fund, the only one of its kind in South Africa dedicated to property technology and sustainability, aims to drive innovation in the built environment through strategic investment in early-stage proptech companies.
The closing marks a strong vote of confidence in the fund’s mission and its unique platform model, which brings together real estate corporates, financial investors, and technology innovators to create mutual value.
In this second and final close, new investors Hyprop Investments and RDC Property Group joined the fund, while select existing investors increased their commitments. The fund’s investor base already includes Burstone Group, Growthpoint Properties, Rand Merchant Bank, Liberty Two Degrees, and Sphere Holdings. Collectively, these partners control more than 750 commercial properties and over 12 million square metres of lettable space.
This ecosystem offers more than just capital — it provides portfolio companies with commercial partnerships, pilot opportunities, and strategic guidance.
“We are incredibly grateful to our investors for their trust and support,” said Peter Clark and Matthew Marshall, co-founders of REdimension Capital. “Their commitment has enabled us to position the fund as a leading catalyst for digital transformation in the property sector, and value creation for all stakeholders.”
A clear investment thesis
The fund targets scalable innovations that improve operational efficiency, environmental performance, and user engagement in the built world. Its strategy combines investment capital with deep sector expertise and networks to help startups achieve sustainable scale.
Since the first close in July 2023, the fund has built a diverse portfolio of high-potential companies, including:
-
Admyt – ticketless parking and mobility solutions, including Mallpass, a digital in-mall companion.
-
RE-Tec Solutions – tenant lifecycle and property management platform.
-
The Good People Data Company – onboarding, workflow, compliance, and data-as-a-service platform.
-
Rode Publications & Media – real estate market intelligence and analytics platform.
-
Roomking – a platform connecting landlords and tenants in the informal rental market.
Scaling for impact
With the fund now fully capitalised, REdimension Capital is entering a decisive execution phase. This includes new capital deployment into early-stage technologies aligned with its sustainability and innovation themes, as well as deep value creation within its existing portfolio.
“We believe that real transformation happens where capital, innovation and collaboration intersect,” Clark and Marshall said. “Our approach is to actively partner with our portfolio — not only through funding but through unlocking growth opportunities across the real estate value chain.”
The firm intends to leverage its investor network’s operational reach to support scaling across South Africa and into broader markets.
