ZipZap partners with Microsoft to turn your mobile into a PoS solution
ZipZap, the mobile PoS solution from Paycorp, has partnered with Microsoft Mobile to offer businesses and retailers the ability to accept payments using Windows Phone devices.
According to a recent press release, ZipZap’s mobile PoS together with a Lumia smartphone will help merchants accept all card payments, issue e-receipts via SMS or email, and view a detailed transaction history via the app or the online merchant portal.

ZipZap’s mobile PoS system uses a smartphone or tablet to accept credit and debit card payments by connecting via Bluetooth or USB, to a separate and secure ZipZap PIN pad.
ZipZap is operating in the dog-eat-dog world of mobile payments which is more and more starting to show off potential in South Africa. Competitors include big players like Standard Bank’s SnapScan, Nedbank’s PocketPOS, Absa’s Payment Pebble as well as iKhokha and FlickPay.
While the ZipZap app is available to download for free on all major mobile platforms, its mobile PoS offering is only compatible with Windows Phone.
In partnership with Microsoft, Paycorp is offering rent-to-own contracts. The first includes the ZipZap card reader, a Microsoft Lumia 535 and 1GB of data per month for R380.00 for 18 months. The second package also includes a Mecer Express A801 tablet for R513.00 per month for 18 months.
