Lean Startup Machine to hit Jozi for third time
“Fail fast. Succeed Faster.” That’s the mantra of Lean Startup Machine, the popular global startup workshop. Following two South African events last year, the 48 hour workshop is returning to Johannesburg this July.
The event, which runs from the 31 July to 2 August, is meant to help startups systematically discover whether their product has a profit-promising market before any wastage occurs.
According to co-organiser and mentor of Lean Startup Machine Tefo Mohapi, the programme is aimed at “everyone ranging from MBA students to employees who have side projects, but have been struggling to get them off the ground.”
To assist and guide attendees on the best ways to apply the methodologies, 12 Entrepreneurs and Thought Leaders who use Lean Startup and Agile methodologies in various industries will be part of the three-day event.
The event kicks off with a series of idea pitches and attendees are organised into teams to pursue the ideas with the most votes. Attendees will be taken through six workshops and four speaker presentations.
According to organisers, The Lean Startup Machine event teaches entrepreneurs about “validated learning” that is backed up by empirical data collected from real customers. Throughout the weekend, Participants will be forced to “Get Out Of The Building” and talk to real customers in order to validate or invalidate their assumptions.
Tickets are currently selling for R1 500 up to 12th July, after which they’ll cost R1 800.
