Nedbank LaunchLab, Multichoice launch new media breakthrough innovation challenge
Pay-media company MultiChoice and the Nedbank Stellebosch University LaunchLab have launched a media breakthrough innovation challenge. This partnership aims to capture new ideas with the potential to change the future of media.
Those successful in the challenge will win a share of R100 000 in seed funding and incubator support in the Stellenbosch University-based LaunchLab facility. The challenge extends to all universities across the Western Cape.
LaunchLab will be hosting a two-hour workshop on 3 March where participants will learn more about the challenge and speak directly to Multichoice. The media conglomerate is interested in finding new ways to collect data on customer habits, create content, and provide entertainment.
The challenge will also be part of the Pitching Platform where judges will be looking for ideas with business potential.

“We have been running the Pitching Platform for more than three years, and many good ideas have been pitched in the Paid Media vertical. However, this year participants in the Paid Media vertical will have an opportunity to showcase their business ideas to MultiChoice and, if successful, win a share of over R100 000 in seed funding and incubation support in the Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab facility.” says CEO of Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab Business Incubator, Philip Marais.
It will include businesses from LaunchLab’s Ideas and Lift-Off programmes, which allow corporates access to external breakthroughs in their industry.
Those interested can find out more information from the LaunchLab website.
