Blockchain-based agritech startup, nine others shortlisted for Seedstars Gaborone
An agritech startup that uses the blockchain and at least two healthtech platforms are among 10 startups shortlisted to pitch at tomorrow’s Seedstars Gaborone pitching event at the University of Botswana Stadium.
Seedstars World made the announcement in a press release yesterday, saying the pitching event will see the 10 early-stage startups compete for an opportunity to represent Botswana at the Regional and Global Seedstars Summits.
In addition the winning startup will stand a chance to win up to $1-million in equity investments at next year’s Seedstars Summit to be held in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Seedstars Gaborone pitching event will be held at the University of Botswana Stadium on 3 November
Here are the 10 selected startups:
Indie Studios Africa: A social ecommerce consultancy service provider that aims to address the needs of the unbanked in emerging markets.
Jobcard: A secure online recruitment platform.
Keakopa Explore: An advertising company that provides online business listing.
Leintel Codemasters Holdings: The company is developing a solution to fight unemployment in Africa.
Lunchbox: An online marketplace and food delivery platform that connects customers with vendors.
Medmall Africa: This healthtech solution connects doctors and patients online through a mobile and web-based application.
Optimum Q: Online platform that enables tutors to upload content for easy access by students.
Plass: A blockchain-based farming management platform that helps farmers manage daily farming production and stocks
StudentPark: A student information portal.
Yapili: A free peer-to-peer medical advice platform that matches users to licensed doctors.
