GSMA reveals first speakers of 2019 Mobile 360 Series West Africa
The GSMA has announced the first speakers of the 2019 Mobile 360 Series West Africa conference which will take place on 16 and 17 April at the Radisson Blu Abidjan Airport Hotel in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
April’s event is part of a series of events the GSMA holds around the world aimed at examining the pressing issues that are shaping the mobile industry on both a local and global scale.
In a statement on Tuesday (5 March), GSMA said the Mobile 360 West Africa conference will focus on the role of the digital citizen (internet users), and will question what citizens of the future want as the number of active users and investment continues to grow.
In addition to the conference, Mobile 360 West Africa will highlight the initiatives and activities undertaken by the GSMA Mobile for Development programme
GSMA CEO John Hoffman, commenting in the same statement, said the event will provide an “invaluable opportunity” for attendees to share their experiences on the impact of mobile technologies throughout the region.

While last year’s event focused on who is leading the digital revolution in Sub-Saharan Africa, this year GSMA will look at who benefits from the digital revolution. Topics to be covered include: what impact digital will have on the job market, content creation, commercial trends and what the key stepping-stones for creating an inclusive and secure digital society are.
In addition to the conference, Mobile 360 West Africa will highlight the initiatives and activities undertaken by the GSMA Mobile for Development programme.
