Here are the 2019 MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge Africa regional winners
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has selected the four Africa regional final winners of its MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge.
MIT announced the winners last Friday (20 September) at the IIC Africa Celebration in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The four are Egypt’s Taskty, Kenya’s Tiny Totos, Nigeria’s Social Lender, and South Africa’s Shopit.
The MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge finals will be held at MIT on 21 November
Through the MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge, MIT awards $250 000 each to four entrepreneurs using tech to create economic opportunities for workers.
MIT had shortlisted 12 African startups for the initiative (see this story).
Taskty, Tiny Totos, Social Lender and Shopit will now join other regional winners from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US and Canada at MIT on 21 November where the global grand prize winners will be announced.
