SA’s uYilo Electric Mobility Programme in call for startups to apply for grants of up to R1m
Are you developing a technology that can advance the electric mobility industry in South Africa, held back only by the right funding? You can unlock up to R1-million in funding.
The national uYilo eMobility Programme was established in 2013 as an initiative of the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) to enable, facilitate and mobilise electric mobility in South Africa.
In a statement last week uYilo called on startups and entrepreneurs to apply for its uYilo Kick Start Funding initiative.
Startups developing tech in SA’s electric mobility sector can apply for grants of up to R1m by 15 November
The programme offers grant funding to support electric mobility related projects for applied research and development (R&D) for individual projects and collaborative projects (for which matching 50:50 co-funding is required).
Applications for funding close on Friday 15 November at 12pm.
The funding call is open to all participants within the eMobility innovation value chain with priority given to projects that:
Have industry projects that will lead to local manufacturing of a product or service, or support public transportation — or who have established applied research and development in uYilo’s strategic focus areas:
- Energy storage technologies
- Electric vehicle systems
- Charging infrastructure within smart-grids
- Connected car
