Egyptian chatbot platform Botme raises six-figure amount from angel investors

Cairo-based chatbot building platform Botme has raised an undisclosed six-figure amount from unnamed angel investors in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Botme helps its clients build chatbots. Clients don’t have to know anything about how to code, to benefit.

The startup was founded in 2017 by Hosni Ahmed, Saais Elhakeem and Soliman Abaza.

It’s not clear when the deal was concluded. Ventureburn yesterday sought information on the deal as well as on Botme’s operations, but was unable to get comment from the startup by the time of publication.

Tech publication Menabytes reported in an article on Monday (18 November) that the startup charges a two percent transaction fee on orders received through bots it has helped build, this while it offers its platform for free to users with under 500 bot users.

According to US business intelligence platform Crunchbase, Botme raised $100 000 in funding in 2017. However, it is not clear who the investors behind this investment are.
