Top startup web events in South Africa, Africa you should know about this week [18/05/2020]

This Friday (22 May), David Perel (pictured above), who is a professional racing driver for Ferrari GT customer teams, will talk in a webinar about the future of real-world racing, esports and how his career has been affected by Covid-19.

This, while on Thursday (21 May), Ego Iwegbu, the founder and CEO of MSLondon Cosmetics, will discuss the future of cosmetics and salons.

Ventureburn has updated its existing weekly series that highlights all the top startup events in Africa, by shifting to focus only on web events broadcast from Africa. This includes webinars as well.

Stellenbosch University’s LaunchLab and the School for Data Science and Computational Thinking would like to invite you to a webinar titled “A Rapid Responsible Innovation Tool”.

Professor Grobbelaar, Dr Meyer and Ms Conning will present a Rapid Responsible Innovation Framework to provide small teams working remotely with simple and easy-to-follow guidelines. This will help them to ask probing questions around how they are approaching their development project and to have a way to document these decisions.

While the focus is on manufacturing products, this project may also hold some interesting findings and applicability for future rapid innovation projects in the area of Data Science.

Iwegbu opened her first salon on London’s Oxford Street in 1999 and went on to own seven salons in Selfridges and Topshop. She has setup beauty counters for large brands in the UK and South Africa including Revlon, Bourjois, London Fashion Week, Crabtree & Evelyn and Superdrug.
