The Fashion Hatchery, a new division of The Startup Hatchery, one of South Africa’s leading Virtual Business Incubators has launched a new fashion entrepreneurship programme called the Women Supporting Women Fashion Mentorship initiative.
10 selected applicants will be upskilled and learn the foundations of creating a fashion startup
Aspiring fashion entrepreneurs who are looking to build a sustainable fashion brand are encouraged to apply to this new programme.
The fashion entrepreneurship programme
The Women Supporting Women Fashion Mentorship initiative provides a unique mentorship platform led by The Fashion Hatchery and several female mentors in the fashion industry.
Hosted as a 30-day online training programme utilising technology to upskill and mentor young female fashion entrepreneurs across the country, the programme aims to empower young female entrepreneurs in the fashion industry.
Entrepreneurs will be matched with virtual mentors who will guide and support them to start or grow a fashion business in 30 days. During the programme selected applicants will also learn how technology can be incorporated in their business with the aim of creating products that can increase their competitiveness.
How to apply
Applicants can apply online.
In order to apply for the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Young female fashion entrepreneurs, aged between 18 to 35, wanting to start or grow a business in the fashion industry
- Applicants must have a fashion business idea or existing fashion business operational for less than 12 months
- Applicants must submit the online application which will then be reviewed
- Successful applicants will be notified in writing and required to participate in a 30 Day Startup Virtual Incubation Programme as well as attend 5 one-hour virtual mentorship sessions with their allocated mentor
