Cameroon gears up for biggest tech start-up summit
The start-up community in Cameroon is gearing up this year’s Silicon Mountain Conference. Billed as the country’s biggest tech event, the focus this year will be on developing local solutions for a sustainable digital economy.
The conference is scheduled from Thursday, 10 to Saturday, 12 November in Buea, a city on the eastern slopes of Mount Cameroon.
Organisers say the conference will push an innovation and entrepreneurship agenda by showcasing solutions young entrepreneurs in its ecosystem are building. Together, attendees will explore why many of these solutions are not consumed locally.
Programme highlights include activities in the three different hubs that Silicon Mountain harbours. The final conference day at the Chariot hotel will feature global and local speakers from the tech and entrepreneurial worlds, as well as a series of exhibitions.
Attendees will get a close-up look at the latest technologies and innovations, all of which will be exhibited by entrepreneurs, software engineers, graphic designers, and techies in general. Exhibitors and attendees at the conference are said to benefit from the opportunity to share and listen to different experienced entrepreneurs, discover new technologies and talents, network and, most importantly, build new connections and relationships that will push Cameroon’s tech ecosystem forward.
