EziPay, an award-winning intra-African cross-border remittances and digital wallet company, has partnered with MFS Africa, the continent’s leading digital payments gateway, to enhance last-mile connectivity for remittances and collections to and from mobile money wallets and bank accounts in Africa.

The partnership comes as mobile money is growing at increasing rates on the continent, with businesses and individuals requiring solutions to transact across regions.

Dare Okoudjou, founder and chief executive at MFS Africa, stated that it was essential to help businesses of all sizes scale by building a network hub and partner ecosystem that shared the same values.

He believes that partnering with EziPay, which is known for providing digital wallets for inward and outward remittance to MSMEs, SMEs, and individuals across continents, was a perfect fit. This partnership will further enable the interoperability MFS Africa aims to achieve through acquisitions and partnerships.

EziPay has a presence in 14 African countries and a global user base of over 300 000, including Africans in the diaspora and local expats who use EziPay’s digital wallets for inward and outward remittances. The organisation’s global wallet Mauritius offering is currently live with over 90+ countries payout corridors.

Amit Gaur, co-founder and chief executive at EziPay, said that the partnership with MFS Africa would enable cross-continent remittances to Africa from Asia, Europe, the UK, and the USA for remittances for goods, services, school fees, medical transfers, business transfers, family maintenance allowances, and P2P transfers.

He believes that with the MFS Africa partnership, their customers would have instant remittances to bank accounts and wallets across Africa for their ever-growing customer base.

MFS Africa’s full-service digital payments network connects over 400 million mobile money wallets, over 200 million bank accounts, and over 120 000 agents in Nigeria, enabling more possibilities, more connections, and more interoperability for individuals and businesses alike.

Okoudjou hopes that partnerships like these will enable entrepreneurs to take their businesses to the next level as Africa’s mobile money landscape continues to evolve. Ultimately, he hopes that it will lead to not only a more connected Africa but also a more connected world.

EziPay’s latest offering is a USD Global Wallet platform that enables essential financial services via an app or web access for users. The digital payment services platform works with users’ preferred Mobile Money Wallet, Bank Account, and Visa/Master Card to offer a simple, fast, secure, and reliable payment experience. EziPay’s USD Global wallet enables inward and outward remittances with payouts in more than 90 countries.

MFS Africa believes that making a payment should be as easy as making a phone call. The organization gives its partners access to a borderless world of opportunities, connecting enterprises, mobile money operators, money transfer operators, banks, non-bank financial institutions, and online and offline merchants to each other and to more than 400 million mobile money wallets in over 35 African countries.
The organisation enables domestic and cross-border disbursements and collections across its network of networks and works closely with all its partners across the globe to make borders matter less.

The partnership between EziPay and MFS Africa will enable last-mile connectivity for remittances and collections to and from mobile money wallets and bank accounts in Africa. With Africa’s mobile money landscape continuing to evolve, partnerships like these will enable businesses to scale and take their operations to the next level. Ultimately, it will lead to a more connected Africa and a more connected world.
