AfricArena, the continent’s leading technology accelerator, is gearing up for its highly anticipated Johannesburg summit. With only three weeks to go until the event, excitement is building as over 20 highly scalable start-ups from across Africa prepare to showcase their ventures to a global audience of local and international investors.

This summit – held on Wednesday, 29 and Thursday, 30 March – is a vital platform for African tech entrepreneurs, providing them with an opportunity to connect with investors and showcase their innovative ideas to the world.

AfricArena’s new partnership with Edge Growth, a company that unlocks growth constraints for entrepreneurs, is furthermore hailed as a significant boost for the continent’s start-up founders, as it provides them with market access, skills development, and funding.

Technology has played a crucial role in the growth of the African economy. The development of tech ecosystems across the continent has facilitated the emergence of innovative solutions to some of the continent’s most pressing challenges. By providing a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations, AfricArena is helping to accelerate the growth of the African tech ecosystem, creating jobs and stimulating economic growth across the continent.

The Johannesburg Summit will include a range of programme highlights, including keynote addresses and panel discussions on deep tech, enterprise, and climatetech. The summit will also feature various pitch battles, where high-potential start-ups will compete for the attention of investors. The participating start-ups include Opetimetriks, FACIR, AMNOVA, Desert Green, and Oxbow Technologies.

The summit will also feature high-profile speakers such as Diana Mongare, investment principal at Future Africa, Nick Allen, managing partner at Savant Venture Fund, and Melvyn Lubega, an African unicorn founder turned venture capitalist. This event is highly anticipated across the African tech ecosystem, as it provides entrepreneurs with a unique opportunity to connect with investors and showcase their innovations.

While AfricArena’s Johannesburg summit provides entrepreneurs with market access, skills development, and funding, it also gives investors an opportunity to discover new and innovative ideas from some of the continent’s most promising start-ups and to network with like-minded individuals from across the globe.
