Banking on women: Pitch contest champions entrepreneurs
In a move designed to drive female entrepreneurial growth and promote innovation, Access Bank South Africa and Jacaranda FM have announced the return of Womenpreneur Her Perfect Pitch for its second year. Targeted at women entrepreneurs who have been operational for at least a year, the competition offers an extensive prize package, alongside invaluable business exposure.
During Women’s Month, the initiative aims to empower South Africa’s female entrepreneurs, providing them with a platform to break boundaries and grow their businesses.
“To enter, women can head to JacarandaFM.com to tell us what their business is about, why their business is important, how it gives back to the community, and what help they think their business needs to see their business purpose come to life,” stated Deirdre King, managing director of Jacaranda FM.
This year’s competition offers a unique fusion of resources from both the banking and entertainment industries, designed to provide holistic support for womenpreneurs. The rewards include not only financial incentives, but also a chance for the entrepreneurs to refine their business propositions through perfecting their elevator pitch.
“As a women-led business we understand the unique challenges faced by businesswomen. By sharing our expertise and providing women with a platform to refine their business and possibly win a once in a lifetime prize, Access Bank has joined Jacaranda FM to elevate Womenpreneurs,” expressed Sugendhree Reddy, chief executive of Access Bank.
The winners stand to gain a comprehensive array of prizes, including significant radio airtime, cash rewards, and business mentorship. In addition, the top 30 finalists will be invited to a networking event, offering the chance to engage with prominent brands and successful women-led businesses, fostering a robust womenpreneur community.
“As a family-centric radio station, we know just how pivotal women and mothers are to their families’ success. Last year we learned that mentorship was as important to the business women as the prize money, and this year we have created an experience that combines both in a big way!” noted King.
Entries will close at the end of August this year. The winning announcement will take place at a gala dinner scheduled for 2 November 2023.
