Want to win R25K? Enter Ventureburn’s ‘Startup Battle’

Startup Battle 2

What makes a good business? Is it the idea? Or perhaps the market gap? Maybe it is the business model or timing. There are many different elements that make a good business.

Every day in Africa a startup is launched or an idea is born. If there is a problem and it has a tech fix, someone in South Africa is working on it. We want to you to tell us why your business is great and why this idea could do with a cash injection.

Ventureburn is hosting a startup battle powered by Ford in connection with Social Media Week Johannesburg (which you should all attend). We have decided to get five startups in a room, to pitch us their idea and get some advice on their business.

Here is how it works:

Startups will apply to take the stage and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. Five startups will be selected, they will each get five minutes to pitch to the judges. The judges will ask some questions and award the prize to one lucky startup.

“We are so excited about the startup space in South Africa and what entrepreneurs are building,” says Ventureburn Editor, Michelle Atagana.

“Africa uses technology in such interesting ways solving problems in new an exciting ways. We want to give startups the opportunity to share their solutions with others. So we are looking for innovative startups with great ideas and products,” she adds.

Does your startup have what it takes to battle for the R25 000 prize?
