Groundbreaking health tech company LifeQ finally launches globally
Industrialised by the Stellenbosch South African-based health tech startup HealthQ, global technology LifeQ is officially being launched at one of the world’s biggest tech events — CES 2015.
The technology will be shown off at the Consumer Electronics Show where people can learn about how physiological monitoring and bio-mathematical modeling can be applied to better understand and manage physiology.
We here at Ventureburn have been keeping our ears pierced to the ground over the past few years ever since HealthQ first impressed us with its open-source metabolic chamber in 2012. Now, after staying under the radar for some time, the LifeQ technology is finally being unveiled, which aims to give people the ability to “optimise and improve the condition of the human body and live intelligently.”
LifeQ uses Computational Systems Biology and continuous body monitoring which allows it to generate a huge range of information and convert it into insights about your own personal health that you can use to make better choices around lifestyle, food, exercise, medication and almost anything that impacts your health.

LifeQ boasts some prominent Fortune 500 families and angels as investors. Some big names include former Corporate Vice President in charge of the Internet Explorer team at Microsoft Dean Hachamovitch, CEO of Dakine and former Vice President of Nike Running and Chris Donnelly who is the Vice President of Global Product and Strategy at Oakley.
“It’s a huge opportunity to stand beside global brands and talk about our vision as a company and how much of an impact we can make. We want to change the way people think about their health, and this new development is finally allowing us to do that,” said executive founder of LifeQ, Dr. Riaan Conradie.
“We can now deliver incredible insights to people about their bodies, potentially even predicting a heart attack. CES speakers are watched by millions of people so it is a fantastic launch platform for us and a great place to engage with potential partners,” he adds.
Conradie will also be delivering a keynote at the Living in Digital Times section of CES, as part of the Sport and Fitness Tech summit.
LifeQ’s technology is said to focus on highlighting and improving six major verticals in one technological device for users to optimize their health and well-being including. These are fitness, nutrition, sleep and stress, medical, health and data mining.
