This is one you’ll want to look out for. The two-part 20 Under 20: Transforming Tomorrow documentary airing next Monday and Tuesday on CNBC in the US, tells the story of 20 young entrepreneurs who compete for a US$100 000 Thiel Fellowship to bring their dreams to life.

The Fellowship is offered by legendary investor Peter Thiel, who many know as one of the first investors in Facebook. The documentary will chronicle Thiel’s search for brilliant innovators — 1 000 applied from 20 different countries — who will will pitch their ideas to investors and entrepreneurs including Sean Parker and Elon Musk. Winners receive money and access to mentors to help them make their bold ideas a reality.
There’s a catch: in order to walk away with a Fellowship, finalists will need to put their plans for college on ice. From the trailer: “Innovators come from all over the place. You don’t need a degree to start a business, and you don’t need a degree to change the world. If your goal is to become an entrepreneur, it would seem that college has become a very bad place to do that.”
We’re sure this list of college dropout billionaires agree.
