Slick, two-step brand mobiliser MHub courting restaurant owners
There are many, many services that allow you to create a free mobile site for your business. Few however, are as slick as MHub, a South African born service that makes it desperately simple to “mobilise” your brand.
Ventureburn took the service for a spin and created a very smooth looking mobile site for Memeburn, Ventureburn’s sister site, in a matter of minutes. The site automagically resizes itself according a viewer’s browser window, which keeps the MHub mobisite looking good on both smartphones and tablets.
The team at MHub announced today, the introduction of “mobi widgets”, the first of which is called “Restaurant Menu.” The widget allows restaurants, hotels and bars to create mobile optimised versions of their menus. After adding the widget and filling in the culinary items on offer, a “Menu” navigation option will appear on the business’s MHub mobi site. Check out this example for El Burro restaurant in Cape Town.
MHub’s “Promote” feature has also been improved. In addition to creating a custom QR code, businesses can now automatically redirect mobile visitors from their website to their MHub mobi, thanks to MHub’s plugins — there’s even one for WordPress.
Business owners can now also easily share their mobi amongst their social networks and track impressions, unique visitors and new and returning visitors via the stats area of the MHub dashboard.
A feature we’d like to see, is the ability to add pages. Right now, users are restricted to one page and any additional widgets MHub may develop in future.
MHub is powered by SAFindIt‘s business directory.
