Professional or amateur, ViGO is said to be for anyone who wants to create their own website. The company is built on the philosophy of keeping its platform simple in terms of flexibility and functionality. Last month the company’s platform called myViGO, was launched. It also notes that its designed in such a way so that both amateur and professional designers can use and ultimately benefit.

First, it provides any person, irrespective of trade or background, the opportunity to create their own website for a minimal monthly fee that includes hosting and email. On the other hand, it’s made for web designers and developers, and marketing and brand consultants.

The CMS platform offers a reseller commission of 25% on the monthly fee while offering direct contact between the reseller and the developer. CEO Carl Wallace further explains the company’s philosophy:

“We want to set the bar high for the first year so that we can prepare for an even bigger picture in the second year. We’re a proudly South African business that is all about empowering other businesses. We want to make a tangible difference in economies throughout Africa. And that means making a difference in the bottom lines of companies. ‘Cause when SMEs thrive, we all thrive.”

In this highly competitive global industry ViGO tries to set itself apart with its basic functionality as it hopes to “turn the industry upside down.” ViGO is also currently in the process of investigating a nationwide programme in collaboration with local government organisations that could provide 400 people with job opportunities.

Furthermore, ViGO is said to continue to explore other collaborative unemployment alleviation programmes as they present themselves. Its services go for R100 (US$10) per month while the company is also currently running a one month free trial.
